To protect the environment, we use fully sustainable packaging, give a second life to our jewelry, and prioritize working with local workshops.

Sketches

When we talk about creating our jewelry, we mean every artisan process: from the birth of an idea to the final result. Imagining and bringing a piece of jewelry to life is part of our daily routine.

The creative process begins with the planning and creation of the first sketches. We put all our ideas on paper until we reach the final concept, working each design with maximum effort and love.

Each sketch is carefully refined and reviewed. We create every piece with attention to detail and care, projecting our essence from the initial design to the final product. Each piece carries a little part of all of us.

3D Design

Once the sketch is defined, we move on to 3D modeling. Using specialized software, we create a hyper-realistic version of the jewelry, paying attention to the smallest details.

Once the design is ready and all measurements are correct, we render the piece. This process generates a 3D image or video so we can visualize it with the chosen material, finish, and/or stone.

After rendering, we use a 3D printer to create the wax prototype, which is then used to produce the original piece. We're getting closer to making it real!

Creation

Once we have the wax original, it receives manual finishing touches if needed. After approving the final model, we create rubber molds to produce the necessary wax pieces that form what is called the “tree”.

This tree-like structure is placed in a cylinder and filled with plaster. Once the plaster hardens, the cylinder is placed in a specialized oven, melting the wax and leaving a negative mold inside. This mold has channels to pour in liquid 925 Sterling Silver. Once cooled, the plaster is removed, revealing the silver version of the original wax tree.

It then undergoes a cutting and polishing process. Depending on the piece, we apply final finishes, from stone setting to gold plating.

The creation of chains is quite different. Machines are used to spin the silver into various styles depending on the desired finish links, measurements, beads, or other details.

All processes are handled with great care and craftsmanship. Our goal is to guarantee quality in every piece while preserving its essence. Every piece is designed and treated with love, care, and excitement. We want to send you a little piece of ourselves with each one!

Production

We bring our jewelry to life in different parts of the world. We work with factories in Spain, Europe, and two in Asia — all of them play a special role in the creation process of our soulful jewelry.

Each factory and workshop has a team of professionals who put their heart into making unique pieces. The handmade details and the passion invested in every step make each piece unique.

We work daily to ensure the best possible working conditions for our employees and manufacturers and to always protect their human rights.

Recycled Silver

Silver plays a fundamental role at San Saru all our jewelry is made from 925 Sterling Silver.

We melt down any defective or unsellable pieces to create new ones, giving our jewelry a second life and contributing to material recycling. This allows our pieces to be reborn and return to your lives.

It's important to know that 90% of the world’s silver is recycled. All the silver we use at San Saru is recycled, so it’s impossible to know its original source or how many times it’s been reused.

Factories

At San Saru, we are working to prioritize production in nearby workshops to reduce our carbon footprint and support the local economy. We aim to manufacture as much as possible close to home.

We know how important it is to care for our planet, and for several years now at San Saru, we have used sustainable packaging for our jewelry, made mainly of Kraft cardboard and PEFC-certified wood from sustainable plantations.

Our packaging is not only beautiful and eco-friendly it’s also reusable. We encourage you to give our boxes a second life by turning them into jewelry organizers, coasters, or decorative objects, with the help of our videos and tutorials.

From the beginning of San Saru, we have worked to ship our orders in fully sustainable packaging, aiming to reduce our environmental impact as much as possible.

925 Sterling Silver Jewelry

All our jewelry is handcrafted in 925 Sterling Silver. This means it's made of 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper — since pure silver is very soft, we need to add a bit of copper to strengthen it.

925 Sterling Silver is a precious metal you can wear every day without it getting damaged. It may darken under certain conditions, but it can be easily cleaned and will always keep its properties like on the first day. To clean it, just follow the steps in our jewelry care section.

22k Gold Plated Silver Jewelry

Our gold-plated jewelry is handcrafted in 925 Sterling Silver with 22k gold plating. The gold layer is 2 microns thick for earrings, necklaces, and bracelets, and 3 microns for rings. This ensures the best quality-price ratio and makes your jewelry more resistant. We add the extra micron to rings for greater durability since we use our hands constantly.

9k Gold Jewelry

This collection includes 9k gold pieces designed and handmade in Spain with the highest quality.

Stones

In addition to 925 Sterling Silver and 9k gold, we work with natural stones (listed in each product description). We use Moonstone, Topaz, Labradorite, Onyx, Rose Quartz, Quartz, Mystic Quartz, Lapis Lazuli, Aquamarine, Howlite, Amazonite, Sodalite, Amethyst, Tiger Eye, Natural Garnet, Larimar, Chalcedony, Sky Agate, Fuchsia Agate, Jade, Citrine, Carnelian, Jasper, White Scolecite, and Malachite.

Some stones like Turquoise, Amber, Blue Sunstone, Ruby, and Brown Sunstone are reconstituted — made by bonding small pieces of the natural stone.

We also work with natural materials like mother-of-pearl and shells, and similarly, we have reconstituted Coral.

Other pieces include zirconia or crystal. However, Opal and some Turquoises are lab-created stones.

WARRANTY

Many of our pieces are made by us in Barcelona, and others in trusted workshops.

All San Saru jewelry has a 3-year warranty* from the date of delivery. If your jewelry breaks or has a defect during this time, contact us. Please keep the defective product and send us a photo showing its condition only then can we process your claim. Once reviewed, depending on the case and the item, we’ll offer the best possible solution.

We can’t offer a solution without verifying the product's condition.

This warranty does not cover damage due to misuse, wear and tear from use, or gold plating wear in gold jewelry.

It also does not cover dirt on the jewelry. Keep in mind that 925 Sterling Silver is a precious metal and can get dirty. If you have a problem with dirt, just clean it using one of our methods. Contact us so we can explain the best cleaning method for your piece. If the issue persists after using the recommended method, we will ask for a video of the cleaning process before proceeding.
